Our fourth pet photography retreat took place in March/April 2019. We headed to the stunning backdrop of the Southern Alps in Queenstown, New Zealand. Against the backdrop of Lake Wakatipu, we took over two luxury homes just meters away from each other. These modern homes with stunning views of the natural surroundings were the perfect base to take advantage of the out-of-this-world shooting locations the area had to offer.
During our stay we photographed a range of beautiful dogs at various locations nearby, including the famous Shotover River, the beautiful historic gold mining village of Arrowtown, peaceful Bob’s Cove with it’s turquoise water and various mountain peaks with epic views over the landscape. On our days off, attendees took advantage of all the exciting experiences Queenstown (the adventure capital of New Zealand) had to offer including zip lining, quad biking and riding horses through Lord of the Rings scenery. This retreat really was an experience to remember!
Here’s what our wonderful group of attendees had to say about the experience.
This group is just truly amazing. I LOVE the sense of genuine love, support, comraderie, celebration of each other's victories, the absolute generosity of sharing knowledge and skills, the pure lack of competitiveness or secrecy in sharing. It's just SUCH an amazing group and I'm just always SO inspired when I'm there and leave to implement new things! Soooo incredibly grateful to be a part of this TRIBE!!!

My skill level increased more than words can say in just 1 week putting me far ahead than if I hadn't gone. Getting to know other photographers that share the same passion was life changing. I always knew I had ``people`` I just hadn't found them yet!!! Really solidified that starting this business is the path I'm meant to be on.

I have come home excited for the future and since returning have done three of the best sales sessions to date 🙂 you were all infectious in your passion for pet photography - which I LOVED - I am a quiet person who prefers to observe and Barkzealand really put me out of my comfort zone which was exactly what I needed. To learn from such accomplished photographers in the genre that I love was bucket list item for me personally and for my business.
